The United Nations Global Compact is an initiative for companies that commit to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally recognized principles in the areas of human rights, labor rights, the environment and anti-corruption.

The SFA Group joined the Global Compact initiative at the end of 2021, committing to promoting and applying the principles of this Pact, for sustainable corporate governance.

World Water Day 2022: SFA Group once again reiterates its support for the Planet Water Foundation

At the initiative of the UN, World Water Day has been held on March 22 every year since 1993 to celebrate this essential resource and raise awareness of the health issues related to its management.

Indeed, more than 2.2 billion people live today without access to drinking water (source www.un.org ) and billions of people around the world will still not have access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in 2030 if progress is not made four times faster (source WHO and UNICEF).

As a member of the United Nations Global Compact initiative and because water is in the DNA of our signature "Water Agitator", the SFA Group has naturally participated in this day for several years.

In 2022, the Group made a new commitment to the NGO Planet Water Foundation by donating 2 AquaHome systems to the village of Sitio Happy Valley, Laguna, in the Philippines. The AquaHome system operates autonomously thanks to 2 photovoltaic panels, it purifies water to make it drinkable and provides electricity to light homes and recharge small devices (mobile phone, flashlight, radio, etc.).

World Health Day 2022: SFA Group supports the organization of hygiene training in a Filipino village

At the initiative of the World Health Organization in particular, World Health Day is an awareness day celebrated on April 7.

Following the installation of the two AquaHome systems in the village of Sitio Happy Valley in the Philippines, SFA Group has extended its support to the Planet Water Foundation by sponsoring a community education program for the entire village.

Residents were invited to participate in this program which, through practical workshops, provides everyone with the knowledge needed to adopt good hygiene practices on a daily basis.

At the end of this training, participants received a guide that summarizes the main lessons of the workshop and a hygiene kit.

SFA Group invests in cigarette-free spaces.

Every year, 25,000 tonnes of cigarette butts are thrown on the ground in France and each cigarette butt contains more than 4,000 toxic substances which pollute our soil and our oceans.

To reduce the pollution caused by these cigarette butts, our Brégy production site is cooperating with  TchaoMegot , a company that has developed the world's first process for ecologically cleaning cigarette butts without using water or toxic solvents.

In September 2022, several awareness-raising ashtrays were placed on the Brégy site and pocket ashtrays were distributed, to ensure the selective collection of cigarette butts.

The collected cigarette butts are collected by TchaoMegot and further processed, for example to make a down jacket or insulation material.
